FSIP Celebrates 50 Years of Excellence and Innovation
In 2018, Flight Systems Industrial Products (FSIP) joyfully celebrated its 50th anniversary. Reflecting on its early history, FSIP emerged as a significant player in the aerospace industry, specializing in the design and manufacturing of solid-state controls for aircraft and runway strobe lights. During this era, FSIP cultivated a reputation as a highly skilled supplier, with its products finding application in various spacecraft and launch vehicles, including Apollo missions 8, 9, 11, 15, and 16, as well as Skylab I and II.
The turning point came in 1999 when the company underwent a name change to Flight Systems Industrial Products, aligning more closely with the markets it served. At that time, FSIP operated with a $1.5 million revenue base and 21 employees. In 2003, the company outgrew its existing facility, leading to a relocation to its current address at 1015 Harrisburg Pike. Since then, FSIP has expanded its facility twice, reaching a total space of 59,000 square feet to accommodate business growth.
Over the decades, FSIP has transitioned its focus to specialize in the electric vehicle market, covering material handling equipment, golf carts, cleaning equipment, electric boats, go-karts, and ground support equipment. Today, the company employs over 115 dedicated professionals and generates more than $20 million in revenue. Additionally, FSIP operates a branch location in Addison, Illinois.
FSIP's success is underpinned by its strong OEM relationships and technical expertise, enabling them to offer a diverse range of high-quality products to their target markets. These offerings span the remanufacturing and small-scale manufacturing sectors, as well as the distribution of new products, encompassing a variety of components, from controllers and chargers to joysticks and golf cart motors.
In 2018, FSIP continued its trajectory of growth and expansion by augmenting its product portfolio and enhancing services for its valued customers.
